Questions on Religions - Should we say Screw all religions?

‘Screw all religions’ that everyone should give up on their own religion, I would just say not so fast. By giving up on your learned religion you may be giving up on something that, perhaps, you should not give up on because it may be that that religion of yours is not bogus at all.

For me all religions are fakes and their Gods are fakes, too, but I always keep in my mind that what I think is fake may not be fake at all. Just because I believe and I think all religions are fake does not make any one of those religions fake. Perhaps, someone will tell me something about his or her religion or his or her God that I cannot tear to pieces with simple reasoning and simple logic. You see if that should happen then I would jump into that religion and that God as fast as I could. So, my mind is not turned off to any one religion or cult that is out there because I know that someone or something sometime might just pop up and make me a believer like they are in that cult or that religion.

Negative statements that people make are everywhere and will be everywhere as long as we may live. The thing that I do when someone hurls one of those negative statements at me is I just absorb it and move steadily on my original pathway to where I am intending to go. I don’t forget negative statements but I do not let my mind constantly dwell on them, either.

I think it is wise to remember that all the negative and positive energies expended upon us while we live simply cancel out at our life’s end!

Dear Wayne
It is what is generally known as positive thinking, or harmonious thinking, see an outflowing stream but neither oppose it nor flow with it. True, this leads to harmony in the society, but someday the stream, if allowed to continue outflowing, will drown all the humanity in itself, leaving nobody as CONSCIOUS human-being. Then there shall be no human progress, no sciences, no thinking, no philosophies, and ultimately the humanity shall perish under dark clouds of religions, which have contradictions in themselves. Please remember that the longest wars have been fought on this earth in the name of religions, not for humanity sake but for the sake of fictitios divinities. By being harmonious, should we allow more of such wars in the coming future to engulf whole of humanity. We are here to work for overall progress of humanity, to take ahead human civilization further which is nourishing us all the time even without our conscious knowledge. We are indebted to it and we must return the borrowing with interest by contributing our mite to take it further.
Not everybody, can understand it nor everybody is capable enough to do something for it. It is the few logically conscious human-beings who have to play their roles.

@Ram,

Your analysis is amusing. Stilling the mind and making it calm is not going to drown humanity in any way. Peace of mind is what everybody wants and that’s the goal of life. A lot more can be achieved in peace than in sorrow.
On the other hand, your statements that let humanity get carried away by the tides of distress and sorrow is totally misplaced. When humanity loses peace, it gets drowned. Suicide rate is very high in today’s world. Stress levels and tension are also very high and these two would ultimately drown humanity. A restless mind would lead to violent behaviour and it would lead the nation to violence. Violence would destroy the world. So, the real dark clouds are the atheists and rationalists who would oppose peace of mind as a solution to life’s problems giving the excuse that peace of mind would drown humanity. Its not peace of mind but violence of the mind that would drown and destroy humanity. The only solution to inner peace and tranquility is to meditate, pray etc. Religion is the greatest treasure of humanity. Religion has contradictions. Objectivity and scientific world also has plenty of contradictions. Today’s scientific theory is null and void in a few years.

Wayne,go through Tattvartha Sutra,you’ll find an answer.
The name Tattvartha Sutra consists of three Sanskrit words: Tattva (true nature), artha (things or realities) and sutra (aphorisms of few words). It may, therefore, be called ”Aphoristic Text on the true nature of realities” This indicates the contents of the text.

Vijay- I have a lot of respect for what you say and thanks for the advice but i don’t read anything of others thoughts that if any human no matter where on earth they live and if they think long enough will come up with the same conclusions ,
I am not the person you see here but put out feelers to find someone of similar thoughts and try through negativity to generate emotional thoughts and have people find a place to vent their hate

My dear Vijay,
In the long run, if the results are not favourable, we must review our path. India has been on a path for the last say 2000 years and has been deteriorating in character, morality, prosperity, human values, and so on. Should we not review and rethink whether we are on the right path. Please think logically and don’t get swayed by has been told to you by others.

With all due respect to you- Ram and you -Vijay-I HEAR THE WORDS AND THOUGHTS OF THE STRONGER OTHERS AND INFULANCES AROUND BOTH OF YOU, LOCKING YOUR MINDS TO THINK YOU ARE HAVING ORIGINAL THOUGHTS
To think like me and others like me although it is very counter productive ,you have to strip yourself of culture, social order and religious beliefs put on all us human as a necessity for servival
You both were forced by your dna and your influence as children to follow your mental path
I though no fault of mine look at the larger picture and the more i see the less i like
If ether were born to a mentally handicapped person and leaving you stunted in thought you would follow that path
To me if there isn’t a message for all life ,conscious or otherwise -THERE IS NO MESSAGE

@Ram,

India has been on the wrong path because religion and spirituality were reduced to mere rituals without knowing the true meaning. This is the wrong path. It needs to be corrected. The decline is because of misinterpretation. Its not because religion itself is bad. Atheism and rationalism are the real wrong path because of their limitations - the limitation of reasoning and objectivity. Rationalism tries to define that which is beyond all reasoning and objectivity. So, it is wrong. Besides, the nature of the mind is to look for peace and happiness. If we remove religion and spirituality, people would look for happiness in material objects and in merely amassing wealth. This does not give long-lasting peace. Its nature is temporary. Besides, life is full of problems. If we ban spirituality and religion, there wouldn’t be a crutch to hold on. Life would be very very difficult and unbearable.

@Wayne,

If we screw all religions, we would all get screwed. For life’s misery, and problems, religion and spirituality alone have the answers. Religion and spirituality would help a person realise his inner self and would thus make him strong to face the world. It would help him/ her detach from the ups and downs of the outer life. Otherwise, life would be miserable. Rationalists have no solution to life’s immense problems. They believe that amassing wealth is alone the aim of life. They do not recognise the fact that peace of mind and happiness is what everybody seeks failing which all the wealth of the world would be of no use. Haven’t we heard of so many cases where rich people and famous personalities have committed suicide? This is what rational thinking would lead to.

YOU ARE A VERY GOOD REFECTOR OF THOUGHTS OF THE STRONGER AROUND YOU
The squeeze on your brain,s thoughts are locked by borders, culture and flags,you fight for what was put on you by the stroner influences and truth to you would always be the stronger truth and not a person on earth could change it
If it works for you, i agree with you there is little harm because if like minds see blue as red then blue is good
there so far no one on this site, not one person who separated from culture and soical pressures
Nothing i write is real and when i look
in a mirror i see no reflection

@Wayne,

Its time to screw rational thinking and the commies who want to exploit the misinterpretation of religions and thus to exploit the masses to get themselves into power. MNCs want to destroy religions and spirituality so that they can make more money since a society without a path to happiness would be in misery and pharmaceutical companies would make more money out of the misery of humanity.

Stay calm ,i will throw out a thousand senarioes and never follow any of them
A true thinker never holds any thought of truth for more than a second
Go back to the basics and understand the workings of the human species and not in the context of borders and flags
If a human was born without outside influence the drive for spiritual feeling are as natural as drinking water -not needing brainwashing

Your not capable of seeing my logic because you run with emotion and locked by culture never being able to step out of your formed mind box to see any other thought and that is ok as it is a trick of nature and it works well on most

Yelling doesn’t make you more rational... and not yelling is also not a ticket to rationality.

However, using the caps sparingly and at right place while typing at least makes it more elegant.

I’m sorry but I could not gather the courage to read through your comment. Maybe I might have missed some good thing but I don’t regret because the package was shabby enough to make me throw it in the bin.

You sure are fired up today and ready to stir up lots of controversy
I hear what you are saying but there isn’t an easy answer for the concerns you brought up ,or is there absolute truth to any questions or answers
Michael the longer you live the more you have to deal with life’s cruelties and unfairness,so you have to learn what battle ground you want to die on
Take a few deep breaths and things will seem less overwhelming
Many your daily path be smooth and straight

I enjoy the philosophical instance which religion in overall has been portrayed as good for the nature of men; Probably a clearly indication of those who practice their faiths. Nothing wrong on believing or not on any religious doctrine however we need to make transparent the reasons why religion become popular and why it still required at present date.

Firstly, I want to priorise that I am an Atheist. I don’t believe in God rather I believe in Humanity and do require seeing with the imperfections and limitations of our beings, which we are to evolve into a better group. I am an Anthropologist and a Social Psychologist. My choices of Academia are direct linked to my believes (or lack of, for some). On saying that, the idea of religion fascinates me because it is necessary for the development of society as such.

So far, nothing wrong as religion itself is not an incorrect concept but it is misused since its development. Religion is not about God or the natural instance of our place in the universe. Religion as such is simply about control of the masses of which God plays an important part to maintain its followers under fear. - At this stage, some will disagree with my statement and I wouldn’t expect any less. My emphasis lays on the importance of fearing an unnamed divine force that allow some Humans to be controlled and servile to unfolding goals.

The idea of Social responsibility is based on fear of law which was given the common conception of right or wrong. This understanding is based on religious consultation.

Now, being an Atheist, not necessarily free me from the idea or control of an inexistent God or force. It only makes me more aware that I am part of something much bigger, like a democratic and isolated intellectual prison. Atheism is simple the idea of a non-existence divine force/power. Nothing more. I don’t argue to make my points with those who believe on it. Instead, I listen and appreciate their experiences and I wish to each one of these fellow Humans, a nice journey.

I am not concerned about judgement. My pairs will judge me for my actions and not my believes since justice as such is to be carried out where the crime is committed. The idea of eternal punishment for a single sin committed over puny eighty years just don’t seems to be fair itself... what give me doubts on the justice approach used.

All the above are my opinions and I don’t want to offend or contradict anyone.

Back to Religion is control: the idea of religion has been developed since the beginning of time to control the masses of which first segregate members of common groups as priests, shamans, pajes, Rabbis and any other categories that allowed one individual to be more ”holy” than another. Soon it become clear that by developing religion attached to a state was beneficial to both, state and priest.

Now, there is no denial to all that. a holy man has the power to control people and it is absolute power to a level which some religions may have the power to decide what is justice or not and in particular who should be a political leader or not. Under this condition, Kings and Queens have been introduced and removed from power and pharaohs have attached themselves as representation of divine.

Doesn’t matter how primitive or developed your society is, the concept of religion used is the same and it;’s limitation comparing both are quite minimal. The difference is the size of the flock, what for some is the same to say ”My army is bigger than yours” therefore, I am more powerful and entitled to more control. Under this example, we had five Crusades which Humanity killed each other for a rotten city. Nothing has been achieved over that for the last five thousand years. Nothing funny about that.

To finalise, religion is important to me as a man and not an Atheist because it controls the weak. It pacifies and comfort those who believe to need these luxuries. It also explains without explaining why some suffers and others not... something that don’t require further investigation. religion is good because it control the masses more than instigate to war. To believe that thousands went to war in the name of God is mistaken. The God has never ordered anyone to kill or be killed... Men did. Misusing the idea of Humanity portrayed as divine.

The most divine thing we have is life but it is quickly overturned by entities with no face for the sake of a few beneficiaries. Life is divine... The rest are not.

What you wrote is logical and true for the most part but you well know that a formed mind by the stronger, no matter what belief will never hear your logic, or nature logic
No one i found so far can comprehend that only the fewer conscious experience these feelings of spiritually, or need of religion as more humans die before earth or universal knowledge, making the fewer speak for the majority
You would think through logic that a god or gods would want the majority of humans to love them not the fewer and that is why the fewer conscious are so dizzy
Our brains aren’t able to understand all, so we look to others and thats when coning comes in
You have a logical mind that few will comprehend as 99% of people live and die in the country and religion them were born to

Well Mike, I see your point... But you have to make up your mind. Or you allow the individual to ”delete” as you call it, religion of his life or a government body to do so. Now, realistically, we both know that no government will be foolish enough to deal and miss with religious issues and it shouldn’t. It its up to individual choice.

Now, I noticed you are from the United States where your government and your own democratic instance have been founded by the right of choice supported by your Amendments. It means you can choose to be an Atheist, to oppose and speak against it if you must but you won’t be allowed to pursue total dismissal of any creed, ideology or dogma since it interferes with the nature of democracy itself.

Now... I wonder why you strongly advocate against religion itself. Being an Atheist is not good enough? Is religion bothering you?

Do we HAVE to choose a religion to be a ”good person”?

I don’t want to be ”known” as a Catholic, Baptist, Witness, etc..

I don’t want to known first as a ”Mexican”, or even as ”Oscar”..

I want to be free to search for my own personal ”truths”, picking up a little here and there, maybe even leaving a little along the way.

I do not want to be forced to ”take all or take nothing” as I believe to do this requires blind faith....I want to know all I can of Man and God or Gods, and still be free to say: You are you and I am me..just tiny specs within the same.

I think to do that, I have to first know myself..and know my self honestly.. From there I can get to know you, and him, and her, and even God if I like while continuing my own personal mission: finding my personal ”truths”.

I prefer to be lonely than blind. I don’t mind hurting feelings; I don’t look to do it, but I am strong in my own personal beliefs.

I was raised Catholic. Catholic schools, Catholic prayers, Catholic, Catholic, Catholic...

I don’t knock religion; everyone needs faith in something..I just have a problem with BLIND faith..That goes for anything: religion, government, educational...It steals one’s opportunity to THINK, and when we can no longer think for ourselves, we become passive conformist..from there the world turns ugly.

We will no longr be honest within society, even to ourselves because we must always ”protect and serve”...I do not think there is a religion that hs not used and abused that type of blind faith to empower the causes, whatever they may be...That, to me, is not GOD, unless God, too, is a politician.
